When you enter a new card or update your information for an existing card, Amazon will ask your bank to authorize a small charge to verify your identity and validate your credit card. Amazon does not actually make the charge.
Depending on your financial institution, the authorization may or may not show up as a pending charge. The authorization should disappear from your credit card statement in 3-5 business days, subject to financial institution’s policies.
If your financial institution is unable to verify and authorize the card, we will contact you for new information. Remember that the invalid card is not necessarily the last one you updated.
If your credit card has expired or has been declined, we will prompt you to enter new credit card information before you can access your seller account.
