some suggestions to Amazon advertising team

Due to the lack of suitable topic options in the advertising backend support center, this post was posted on the forum! I hope Amazon employees can forward this post to the Amazon advertising team!

The laws and regulations in various states of the United States may vary. Faucets sold in California must be registered on the CEC website. Some faucets do not support delivery to California, but the advertisements for these faucets are still displayed to customers whose delivery locations are in California.

This can have a very negative impact, seriously damaging the interests of buyers and sellers:

1) It can cause a negative shopping experience for customers. Shoppers in California search and click on the advertisement to enter the page but finally find that the item cannot be shipped to the selected delivery location in CA. It's meaningless. Wasting their time;

2) Amazon allows restricted product advertisements to be displayed in restricted areas, meanwhile, sellers have no right to choose not to display advertisements in restricted areas. Undoubtedly, Amazon advertising is the only beneficiary of this behavior. This behavior seriously harms the interests of sellers and "steals" a large amount of advertising fees from a large number of sellers (however, this part of advertising expenses could never get one order in restricted areas.). So, if a faucet can't be shipped to California, why this faucet's ads displayed to the shoppers whose selected delivery location is in CA?

Here are some suggestions.

1) Based on negative keywords and negative product targets, Amazon Advertising could add an advertising negation tool: add negative states (regions). For example, Google Ads provides a state (regions) target option.

2) When Amazon detects that an item cannot be shipped to shoppers' selected delivery location, don't display this product's ad to shoppers whose locations are in restricted areas.

3) Add a hashtag on the search engine results page. (This item cannot be shipped to your selected location.)

Hi @Seller_kWqEoP5xDGTc6,

I've just come across your post here and wanted to jump in and say thank you for sharing your feedback on this issue.

Often times, buyers have more than one address listed in their profiles, and sometimes those addresses can be listed in many different states. Because of this, it can be difficult to determine where a buyer plans to have a product shipped by the time they have completed their shopping. We don't want to leave buyers out just because they have shipped to a California address in the past in case that is not where they plan to have every order shipped.

I would suggest ensuring any energy label information your product has be listed on your detail page, including a note that it cannot be shipped to California due to CEC regulations.

I hope this help clarifies how we view the subject. You can also learn more about labeling for CEC and non-CEC items here.

Thanks for your reply.

There is a suggestion. Based on negative keywords and negative product targets, Amazon Advertising could add an advertising negation tool: add negative states (regions). If a customer chooses a delivery destination included in the negative states, the sponsored product doesn't show up. Non-sponsored products could be displayed to all.
