Our own brand’s listing was taken down with “Your product requires approval to sell”
We’ve been selling our brand’s products on Amazon for 2+ years now. Our product is not in a restricted category. We are brand registered, own all of the trademarks, all of the patents, are the manufacturers, and are the only seller of our product on Amazon. Yesterday, one of the sizes from our listing was taken down with “Your product requires approval to sell”. The size that was taken down also happens to be our best selling size.
We now do not have access to send in inventory of that ASIN and cannot reslist the product without “requesting permission” to sell this product. We’ve called support several time and created a case which was just responded to with “We are currently not accepting applications to sell this product”.
What is going on here? We are still selling all of the other sizes of this product, but something is going on with this one specific size (our best selling size). We have also tried escalating the case with brand registry.
Any advice or ways to get this escalated would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

" Yesterday, one of the sizes from our listing was taken down with “Your product requires approval to sell”."
Does the information in BR match the information as shown on your Seller Account EXACTLY?
It can be as simple as the two not matching and the BOTS all have ADHD and have quit taking their medications.
You may need to send your seller account an email giving yourself permission to sell your own products under your own brand name.
When I registered for BR I had to provide paperwork from the State for two of my LLCs. I produce under one LLC and sell under a different LLC and I had to prove to Amazon that I own both LLCs.
Amazon is weird and has so many dysfunctional BOTS that it is hard to comprehend why it has not collapsed years ago already.

We have had this issue with UPCs that do not match what we are selling. "Piggyback listings where a seller bought a UPC from someone other than GS1."
Did you buy UPCs from GS1? If not, we've been told this is likely due to someone creating listings for other products using the same UPCs in another marketplace. Then, your marketplace will update to whichever has the correct GS1 UPC.

Good Evening @Seller_2035pT4uWcl9B,
It appears some of our seasoned sellers were trying to help you narrow down why this issue may have occurred. As @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp suggested, if you have a Selling Partner Support case that you have filed, please share it when you can so we can take a look into why you have suddenly lost permissions to sell your ASIN.
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Hi,
We had the same issue. I'm not sure if the cause is the same but it can't hurt to try.
Our problem was that the Amazon bots changed our GL category (used forn referral fees) from Home to luxury_beauty and Amazon was not accepting new products in that category.
You can check which GL category you're in by generating a Fee Preview report (Reports- > Payments).
1) Look at what GL category similar products are in.
2) Call Amazon and find out what is the GL category for your restricted product. If it's wrong, ask them to change it to whatever it's supposed to be.
This is how we resolved our issue. Hope it helps

I bet that coincidentally, you are getting emails now from e-commerce sharks offering to "manage your brand". They seem to have a crystal ball that tells them when to go after a wounded fish.
Amazon is definitely the best-selling platform, and for that reason it will always be the target of these shady characters.
Seller_qgkaa9vNYZ46q
My advice is to leave this platform ASAP and come back when they start to give a dang. They just don't care enough to keep problems like this from crushing the little guy....unless that's the plan? When a new fish starts eating their lunch like Temu/Shein is starting to do watch how quickly things turn around and how quickly problems get resolved in our favor. Maybe another year or 2 and some bad quarterly earnings and the tide will finally swing back our way, until then I'm 99% FBM. I'd rather not gamble with the few eggs I have in this basket. One day you have thriving store and the next morning you get the dreaded heart attach email that your shutdown for xyz made up reason. The email is of course vague and ss is zero actual help so you waste all your valuable time chasing ghosts and getting canned email responses.
Seller_9TeQa6npghfEc
There is an issue with an incorrect assignment to the wrong gl_node (note this is NOT the category though SS often thinks it is) which can cause this to happen. Basically, the item can be considered something it is not (such as downloadable software) which you are not authorized to sell. As usual, there is a new bot doing this.
Click on the item, check the category as well as the item which appears to the left of the search bar (the gl_node). If either is incorrect, you have your problem.

Did this get fixed? I had the same exact issue and @Rose_Amazon put me through to Selling Partner Communities Support. It took some time but it did get fixed. There was an issue with the attributes on the backend that needed updating. Im not sure which attribute that caused my issue but it is possible this is the same problem type.

Good Morning @Seller_2035pT4uWcl9B,
I just wanted to follow up with you to let you know the partner team has reinstated ASIN ending in 1G9C. I do see the ASIN back live on the website. Please let me know if you are seeing that on your end too or have any additional questions regarding the outcome of the case. Hope you have a marvelous rest of the week and take care.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Why do some sellers get such quick assistance with this and some don't?
We are having the exact same issue and have not been able to get any support for months.
