Approved to sell, but cannot send in inventory because "product requires approval to sell"
Hi All - hoping to get some help troubleshooting this. I applied to sell an existing ASIN and was approved, as I had purchased 100 units of inventory and provided an invoice from the manufacturer. I am trying to send in my inventory to Amazon FBA, but getting the error message "product requires approval to sell". My application to sell this brand is still listed as approved.
Any guidance here? Thank you!

Good Evening @Seller_DBETGERn2SqFm,
Welcome to the Amazon Seller Forums! We are glad to have you. As this seems to be your first post on the forums, I recommend checking out Seller University that way you can avoid unnecessary fees, confusion about how to add a product and be aware of penalties that may occur on your Selling Account if policies are broken.
I also wanted to stop by to share the link for Amazon's Responsible Sourcing documentation request requirements. These resources might help you with your selling application appeal process. The following piece of information are requested of you:
Copies of invoices, receipts or other similar documents that demonstrate where your products are produced or manufactured
These documents:
- Should reflect the sales volume of your product across all Amazon marketplaces in the last 365 days
- Should demonstrate your product’s full supply chain
- Should include contact information for the supplier(s) and the original manufacturer. We may contact suppliers or manufacturers to verify the documents
Your documents should be able to trace your products to the original manufacturer even if you did not purchase them directly from the original manufacturer. This may require requesting additional invoices or supply chain documentation from your supplier if you are not sourcing directly from the manufacturer.
You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible to enable adequate review of the documents you provide. For ease of our review, you may highlight or circle the ASIN(s) under review.
A letter of authorization can also be a valuable addition to your policy violation appeal if you are sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.
Lastly, if you have a relationship with the brand directly and they are in Brand Registry, you can reach out to them to ask them to add you as an Authorized Reseller or Brand Representative of their brand, which may assist with getting approval to sell their items.
Let us know if you have any questions about any of the information provided above. Have a terrific rest of the week.
Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
